• Measurement of your horse

  1. What you need to measure your horse is:
     • A wire that is easily bent and shapes well. A wire clothing hanger can often be used
     • A piece of paper A4 or larger or print our form
     • A measuring tape
     • Pen or marker
  2. How to measure:
     • Use approximately half a meter of wire that you can easily form after your horses back
     • Make sure your horse is standing on an even surface
     • Put the wire on your horses back starting at the highest point of his withers and following the spine (Line A in the picture). Transfer the shape of the wire onto a paper or our form
     • Measure the width of your horses back at three places (1,2 and 3) like shown in the picture and transfer the shape of the wire on the paper
     • Take a picture of the paper on your phone and upload the picture here:

  The width of the saddle tree is measured between the points of the saddle tree in the front. This measurement is often given by manufacturers in gullet width (ex. Medium), in centimeters (ex. 30 cm) or angle (ex. 91°).
